What is this contraption?

I have always been puzzled by this instrument David Hungate is playing, watch it at 3:57. Anyone has seen this Stratocaster/ Some Bass he is playing here? Not a clue of what this is.

I'm guessing a parts bass with Fender necks. Double-necks were big medicine in the late 70's. There is a caveat, however: DH had to cut short his involvement in the TOTO reunion tour of a few years ago due to back problems. Hmmmmm . . . . . .

I knew that, what I wanted to know is if Fender made this thing or if it was more of a "Let's do a Frankestein" sort of thing from Mr. Hungate. Because every google search I have seen always shows a bass on the upper side and a strat on the lower side.

Pretty sure Fender had nothing to do with it.

Looks like a custom BODY, and custom guards the rest being from donor Fenders is my guess.
