SO! This has probably been posted before, it may be one of the more obvious answers.
I was watching a video of Michael League (see below)
In the main riff, just after the C is played on the G-string, a little technique follows where he changes from the C to the C# really quickly. You know what I mean, like a pitch bend...

So yeah, slightly nooby question, but what is that technique called? Also, whenever I see people do it, they dont seem to be pressing down on the string very hard, but I can never do it successfully myself! Do you need to be using Flatwounds or something? Sorry if this is obvious, but I haven't the foggiest.

Well, if I'm thinking of the same spot you are, he's playing in octaves, and changing position with the C/C# slide as well. There are a few things going on.

Yes, uncoated roundwounds take a bit more practice to get smooth slides than coated or flatwound strings.
