What is your favorite all-around string, and why?

I did a lot of string experiments over the shut down. Tried out some of my old go-to strings (D’Addario XL, Slinky, Chromes) and some new ones too (Fender Flats, Pressurewounds, Round core boomers.)

But the string that’s back on my main P bass is Sunbeams 45-100. I absolutely love the sound I get from these; but more so the playability. It’s effortless and the string just does exactly what I want it to. Pushing 1 year on this set and they’re still going strong.

I also just put Pure Blues 45-100 on my jazz-clone, and I like them just as much. I guess I’m a DR fan boy now!

D'addario's Prosteel xl 220 Light Gauge for firm tension not hard not too light firm, neutral tones and brilliance that long last. Super long lasting not too rought for stainless.

For vintage tones I prefer Roto's Nickel or 66 Stainless. But more rough, less long lasting.
