What makes a good, successful tribute band?

Thank you for taking the time to write an insightful response that really adds to this conversation.
No need to read any further. Lemme find that ignore button
Conversation was trash from the first paragraph. Telling anyone they don't like music because they're hip hop fans is absurd and the people that say things like that don't deserve to be heard by anyone outside of their own ridiculous echo chamber

....most tribute acts, around here at least, still only perform as little as every 6 months, at best every 3 months....

The tributes I know in my area play concerts every 1-3 weeks, and they are in the better locations. Most of the concerts are already fully booked in advance because the club owners spend money on advertising; these shows make money for them.

I apologize to fans of:

- Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
- Rage against the Machine
- Primus

I do not apologize for my kind of humor. Live with it, ignore me or give me ADHD pills or a dry red wine.

Check out Music Zirconia booking agency. They booked us many times and the $$ was good as well. They like having regional acts so not as much fly away shows. But yea, have the whole package for these guys to book you. Check out their roster and you'll see.

Well, that is probably very good advice, but we are 5.834 miles away from San Diego.

There are some specialized agencies here that love tributes and ignore cover bands. When the time has come I will follow your advice and see what they can do for us. I am the booker of the band, and I would really love to outsource this task.

Well….. they book all over the USA and the $$ is good for sure. Check out all the bands and many genres and you can see how these take it 100%. Music, look, stage / amp backline look, etc…..
We had a small group that saw us during afternoon sound check and said something like " we saw the "real band" and paid big money and you guys sound just as good and a good show visually". They wanted encores and autographs too ! Who would have thought ??
