What makes it your bass?

The fact that I went to the Sadowsky shop and custom ordered a bass makes it mine.

Talking with Roger, Ellis and staff was an amazing experience that will never leave me.

This one will always be in my collection.

The fact that the only original parts on the bass is the body and neck, I’ve modified and upgraded everything else. I’m a new bass player and bass modder and the whole experience for me with her has been a massive learning process, and to be honest I’ve enjoyed the researching, the modding and tinkering as much as I enjoy the playing.

She has lots of little dings on her from where I’ve been experimenting with upgrades and maybe gotten something stuck or I’ve slipped with a tool, but nothing too bad just little bits that add character. I’ve also started to wear the finish off her near the thumb rest and between the pickups where I play her too.

There are many Ibanez Mikro’s out there, but this one is mine and there isn’t another quite like her.

That big poles Humbucker in the sweet spot with flats , low weight , and comfy neck. I’m a sucker for white, purples, blues ,gold hardware , figured woods, sparkles , and the right burst.
If I can get Old School 2band Sounds and that signature StingRay bounce to the notes without the metallic ping, it’s mine.

As much as I love your Stingrays, that Sandberg is insanely gorgeous!

I went down to Bass Central intending to buy another StingRay5 Special, but the color did nothing for me in person ( snowy white). Turned around and saw this Sandberg hangin on the wall and it was like every thing else in the room disappeared. I asked to play it. After 30 mins I said “ I’ll take it”.

There are times when I wrestle with selling it . It doesn’t feel or really sound like a StingRay. It doesn’t sound good with flats. But I found the perfect rounds ( TI Jazz) , and have learned to appreciate what it brings to the table.
It’s a nice change of pace . The B sting is glorious !!
