What makes MM Stingray's so good for slapping?

Their tone? 
Seriously thoufg, it's the agressive sound, and that the pickup is wired in parallel, which gives more bass/treble than regular series wound humbuckers. That's what I'd bet on anyway.

whats wrong with that.. alot of people like something, but dont know why... could you tell me in detail why a Ferrari V8 sounds so good?..You "believe" it's true...but you don't know why?

As opposed to a Porsche 911 Carrera? The exhaust system would be my guess.
As for the MMSR5 I own, I think it's the pickups and the preamp. My Lakland 55-02 has the same construction with inch longer scale, but our bass player agrees it's good for slapping, too. He hasn't tried my MM yet but I can tell the two basses sound different and their preamps react differently.
Well, huh, might as, might as well ask why is a tree good? Why is the sunset good? Why are boobs good?
How about two more cylinders? 911 are flat 6 cyls called boxer engines. And if we were going Italian, most would prefer the Ferrari V12 over the V8. I still would take the Porsche any day. More reliable and actually usable.

Neck is wide and (usually) comfortable thin, allowing ample room for right-hand thumbing and left hand comfort;
Pickup is in a good sport to give a nice thump when slapping. responding very well to dynamics that are involved in funk playing.
Don't under-sell the bass for finger-funk too - a great deal of Flea's famous recordings were NOT slapped - just fingered very hard. The

Pickup Location (For sound and right hand space), Tone (Typically very bright and snappy), String Spacing (Self explanatory)
Many funk players chose the SR to better cut through the mix. They typically boosted both the bass and treble eq and hence defined the mid-scooped slap tone. Moreover, when it was first introduced, the SR was one of the most affordable active basses. Thus, it was used by many players.

When I got my first 'Ray back in '93, 2 things stood out to me as really sweet; the slap tone, and the upper register fingerstyle tone. Since that time, pretty much every bass I've had has been fine for both those things. I guess that bass allowed me to make a jump in my technique.....
