What pairs with TFR?

I have the fantastic Tall Font Russian and would like another fuzz to cover the punchier/harsher side of the dirt spectrum. I think I've narrowed it down to Malekko Diabolik and SS/BS Team Awesome Fuzz Machine. I'm leaning towards the Diabolik due to knob count and size.

Both sound great on their own but which would sound better with the TFR? other pedal recommendations welcome.

Are you talking about actually stacking sounds, or just something to cover the ground the TFR doesn't? Stacking fuzzes is just overclipped, over compressed noise IME, though the TFR probably handles it better than some.

If you are just looking at covering different ground, those are two nice options, especially if you like the spitty, gated thing. The TAFM can do more than that, of course, and despite having all the knobs, it's easy to find many good sounds with it. A Fuzzrocious Grey Stache is a good alternate for more middy-grind that still has some force to it.

Thanks. I don't think I can go too wrong with either of these pedals but I was hoping one would stack well with the TFR. I don't have too much experience with combining fuzz.

I still haven't head much bad sound/reviews from the TAFM. Ugh, I go back and forth...

You don't use an amp effects loop anyway - that's just for inserting effects between the pre and power amp.

I use a Boss LS-2 for parallel processing. It's super versatile - has 6 different switching modes, and level controls for both loops. It also has the advantage that you can turn on 15 pedals in each loop with the LS-2 bypassed, and then just hit that one pedal to go from clean to insanity.

Have you considered a different type of dirt pedal to stack with your TFR? I run my Sansamp BDDI in full blast overdrive into my swollen pickle and it adds even more low end body and a nice crunchy attack. It's the kind of tone that scares small children and makes a guitarist jealous.

TFR into VMT. I tried both ways and I prefer the mids and crunch that VMT adds after TFR. Sounds clearer to me too. You?
I have also tried both ways. At the moment I have TFR after, because the VMT drives it into even fuzzier territory. If I end up buying a Vintage Deluxe, I'll place that at the end and put the TFR back earlier in the chain. Stacking these two awesome pedals is definitely the way to go!!!
