Your band - Whatever you like.

Their band - Whatever they like...which is a good bass into a good amp. Done.

My band plays a bit of blues. I use a SansAmp PBDDI and use the tube setting pretty much stock on most tunes, gives me the bottom I want. If it rocks a little, I might use a little SansAmp overdrive for some edge. My compressor and chorus (light settings) are always on. Reverb ? Sometimes, again very light settings.

For blues, I'd use no pedal.
