What practice headphone amp do you use?

I bought an amplug a while ago while I was on a trip, I went to a store looking for a bass. Found the bass (ESP fretless) and got an amplug to be able to play in the hotel. It is super noisy. I have never used it again. If i want to practise through headphones, I use my Shuttle.

I love the M50. It's a great neutral sounding headphone that does not cost a ton of money.

I use the Amplug. It's small, cheap and gets the job done. I always run it from my effecs board, so I can approximate my live tone. I'll eventually upgrade to a fancier headphone amp when I'm relegated to being a strictly "at home" player and for recording purposes. I use Sennheiser HD series phones but tend to favor the Beats by Dre I got as a present a couple years ago. I know they get a lot of flak here, but I like bottom heavy phones so they work good for me, plus they're noise canceling.

iPad with iRig. You can run the Amplitube in the background and learn songs off of YouTube if needed. That came in handy recently when learning songs for a Joe Jackson tribute band I filled in for. You can also import any songs from your music library.

I use a Tascam CD Bass trainer that's wired into my rehearsal computer. Having my time over again I'd have bought a very much cheaper micro mixer as they can take a bass and a computer/MP3 player audio output.

Sometimes I use my Micro VR when I'm at home, but most times I usually just use my Amplug because I liked getting away and being wireless on my lunchbreaks or even taking the kids to the park on weekends and not being tied to anything big.

I use headphones -> mixer -> computer. It allows me to play music from the computer and record the instrument. Otherwise a Line 6 Pod or a Tascam CD-GT1 MKII.

I looked at one of those and the Bass Buddy but didn't like ow transparent the tone was. Would be killer for most users though.

Yamaha mixer. I needed a mixer anyway for small gigs where I handled PA duty so it's a dual use piece of gear.

I am now using the PJB BigHead, sounds way better than my Tascam MP3 or iRig pro. Headphones either Beyer Dynamic 770's or the ATH M50.

Vox AP2BS amPlug. The other side of the equation is what headphones you are using. The amplug sounds great through mine, Grado SR80e's.
