What rack are you using??

I'm in the market for a rack case for my head. I hate to admit it but, I have just been sitting my SWR350 on top of my cabinet for the last 5 years...:hiding:

I have a little extra money at the moment so I thought I'd better look into getting a rack case since I don't foresee being able to afford a head repalcement in the future...:p

What rack cases do you folks recommend?? I was thinking of going with one of these...Link Removed

Does anyone have any experience with them??

All comments, and opinions, are welcomed and appreciated...

I bought a 6-space to hold all my goodies, and it's held up great. A 6 space is only $99, and it qualified for free shipping. They do have smaller a four space too. Go here to see them:

These cases are pretty heavy duty. I would have no qualms putting my case on an airline for flight.

I've never had any experience with the MF cases, although I think I read someone's review that mentioned they were really deep.

Hope that helps!

I just use SKB ATA cases.

I've been using a warwick rockbag 3 space for the past 5 or so years. it is a nasty heavy creation which is now really ripped up.

For just carting an amp around yourself without to much extra stuff (2 - 4 spaces total) just get molded rack - lighter. The gator effects rack with a shorter depth is perfect for my Tfunk. The SKB shallow rack is even shallower than the Gator

Anything more, it might be better to get a more traditional plywood rack maybe?

If you have gotten away without needing a rack mount case for 5 years, then I take it you don't really need a "hardcore" case, so those plastic SKB ones would suffice.

The only con to them is that during the rigors of serious traveling, touring, gigging the metal edges that connect the front/rear panels can get bent up rendering the case useless.

Just my experience.

Way back in 1980-81 I purchased a roadrunner mic case. I recently found it in the back of the closet. After all these years it looked perfect. I took this as a sign and went out and purchased a roadrunner 6U rack for my stuff....looks great and if it holds up half as good as the old mic case, it will be well worth every penny!

Not mine, but looks exactly like that....

I was going to say "why on earth would you set your EQ like that????":D

I use the Gator rack cases myself. IME you can usually find them pretty cheap on evilBay compared to SKB.

I also use Link Removed. Granted, there are probably some legit complaints about quality, yet I've been gigging with one of my amps (26 lbs) in a 2-space version and no problems so far... :)
<looks for some wood to knock..>
