What rack for GK 1001RBll ?

True, but I believe that's way overkill - since the manual for the earlier 700rb only called for 1/2" fan clearance, and there really doesn't appear to be any chassis/fan/ventilation changes from the 700rb to the 700rbII...

All I can say is that going against the manual's recommendation is always *at your own risk*, but I gigged mine pretty hard in some hot temps in an SKB 2U ATA rackcase as shown in my pics, and never had any issues of any kind...

I currently have 5U of gear. I'm looking for a 10-12U rack and picking up a 3U drawer for stuff.

As a word of advice: don't. You'll very soon tire of coping with a rack of that size. It's simply too unwieldy! I bought a pair of 2U drawers. Each one was much heavier than my lead sled power amps. Both are now sitting unused in my garage.

The way George runs his is better. I will not go larger than 4U. If I need more I use a second case. One in each hand makes for a more balanced carry.

OP, if you have a decent stable bass there is no need for a rack tuner. I have a pair of Korg DTR1000 that I discovered I was using once a night. A simple hand held fills this function at far lees cost. Both of the Korgs are in storage.

Yeah, I'll never go larger than 4U for bass, either - it's just too awkward... I have a 6U for PA processing, and a 12U on casters for PA amps/EQ/crossover, and they're definitely more awkward to move than my 4U bass amp rack...
