Searched for this information and couldn't find it. The Roland VB-99 bass synth was discontinued some years ago. Is there a current production Roland product that effectively replaces it? Or did Roland abandon the bass synth product line? Thanks!

They're still at it. The GR-55 is the current model and there's a couple of stompbox style processors that take a 13 pin input as well. The Boss SY-300 is new and doesn't require a GK p/u.
Thanks! I ask because I recently saw Michael Manring live. His used a VB-99 (without the GK pickup) and a Soft Step MIDI controller with two controller pedals. Sounded very impressive.

Current in-production Roland/Boss units which are VB-99 near equivalent are the
Boss SY-1000
Boss VG-800
Both these have a Bass mode.
