What roundsounds have a rep for being high tension?

Doesn't make them stiffer. Larger outer wraps usually require LESS winds on a string, and ones that are rollerwound even less so. Meaning, Pressurewounds actually have less material on them than a comparable roundwound, because of the construction.

The ML7200's hurt my fingers and are one of the most likely designs to exacerbate the hidden pains of long term playing.
Someone from GHS mentioned the iron content as a possible reason for discomfort.
In any case when I tune them down one-half step they are pretty close to fine.
On the other hand, when it comes to tone they are easily one of the best sounding strings I have ever encountered.
Covering a wide spectrum of genres while adding new tones for me.

Are you talking about the fretting fingers or the plucking fingers?

Rotosound Swing strings are on the stiffer side.

I have been using Sunbeams and Super Brights; found the flexibility and tone were pretty similar after break in.
Just put on some XL's and like the beefier tone but man are they stiff.

GHS Super Steels. Hex core with a stainless winding. Taut! Holy smokes those were a dexterity workout. Like solid rods of steel. Had them on a short scale.

A string with large hex core is noticeably stiffer than a string with a smaller diameter, round core; even though their "gauge" may be the same. And, even though the tension to get them to pitch may be very similar, the large diameter hex core string will, indeed, feel very "stiff" compared to the round core string. Some of us like those stiff, hex core strings, though; which is why they make them...

Can you list some examples Please? For me, the stiffer the better. I usually play D'addario XLs but if I could find a nickel string with even more stiffness I would be happy.

The GHS Boomers (regular hex-core version) are stiffer than the D'A XL Nickels as well as more overall tension.

Jason at BassStrings Online would know for sure. Off the top of my head, the only ones I can think of are strings I use; regular GHS Boomers, and Optima flats.

Fretting fingers. I am thinking this design would be ideal for a short scale basses.
Perhaps they could experiment with a round core.
I am wondering about the difference on the lighter gauge version as well.

Rotosound. They feel like fence wire to me. Don't know if the reason is tension or materials but they are hard for the picking hand

I never found Rotos any stiffer than most strings, Daddario xls always seemed really stiff to me in anything but the lightest gauge
