What should I add to my rig.

I recently purchased a gallien-krueger 700 RB head and a Peavey headliner 410 cabinet. My question is what kind of rack mount effects or preamp should I add to this rig? I play heavy metal originals.

You're going to want to be a lot more specific on what you want or need. Blindly throwing out suggestions doesn't usually work out too well.

Just want a good starting point ... What I'm asking is what is the basic starting point. I seem to either get a really muddy sound in bottom end . work that out and I'm really tinny on high .
