What should I do??????????

So ive been saving up my money. Im thinking about buying parts for a bass guitar, body, neck, etc., and customizing it. It seems relatively easy to put together, but my parents are freaking out about spending money on parts. Is puting a bass together out of parts hard? If i do buy the stuff, should i get a tech to put it together? thanx

If you're willing to put a little work (and I do mean a little, it really isn't too big of a job) into it, and you can afford the parts, go for it.

For one thing, you know that you'll be getting something of quality from it (if you know what you're doing relatively), and you're going to get a lot more out of it than you put in, mostly because you're going to learn a LOT about the bass guitar from building one.
