What should I do.

So once again..the band i was in fell apart. The story of my life it seems.

Looking on craigslist lately for local band listings and what not and really starting to wonder. Should I just give up on bands for a little while? Or should I continue to go out and join the s----ty bands around here?

I tend to run into a predicament when I join bands. Music is a hobby to me, Im not striving to make it into the music buisness,but I take music very seriously. It is a spiritual,physical,and mental experience for me,and is borderline orgasmic when I'm in the pocket with a good drummer. So it seems to find people like minded,It leaves with professionals or people who are in it to win it and are much older,more experienced,and have gigging bands that also require a much more experienced player.

Put your own ad on Craigslist saying who you are and what you want; those people are out there. Not everybody wants to be a professional and make a career out of it.

I've done this numerous times over the past year. If I get any response it's usually some teenagers who claim to be serious about music,and have just started playing or something this past summer.

can no one can be salvaged from the band that fell apart....i'd say keep trying and if you can find one other guy that shares your experience and outlook you will probably find it easier to get the remaining guys you need,while you work up your set....

It only takes one contact to make things happen. If you haven't found that person, keep searching. As much as I don't enjoy them, I'd say start attending any kind of jams you can find. Prepare well and make a great impression. Keep pursuing bands till you find a few guys you enjoy hanging with and can make some music with.

In all my experience, not everyone can make great music with everyone else. Sometimes things click and the sum is greater than the parts, but that's kinda rare - until you get to a certain level. You'll have to play with as many people as you can, then you'll find a drummer you like working with and maybe you'll remember a guitarist from another band and a singer from another. It takes time...

But networking is key. CL is one avenue, but you're better off finding more serious musicians at an open jam. It's easy to be something else online; face-to-face is a different story.

Well the band before was only a 3 piece band. The guitarist/vocalist was working in the town the drummer lived in,which is where we were meeting up at,then he got transferred to valdosta medical to work full time there and really doesn't have much time other than work,and the drummer is who went and started the old band,so there's no one left but me.

I would go to more music events I like, if I could. There is only one rock club down here,and from what I heard it's closing down.

I have found one guitarist that i just click with,and it's magic when we're playing together, there's just a connection between us, however thats the guitarist that had a job change. Honestly I could jam with him for a long time and be satisfied,but he's not sure when valdosta medical is going to get another physical therapist assistant to replace him.

I don't have any relevant advice for ya, but I thought I'd give a shout out to a local. I'm up in Valdosta myself. My dad actually works in Tifton a couple days a week too. Good luck figuring something out.

In the first week I used it, I had 3 good hits. One guy said he really liked the profile I wrote. (I mentioned all the bassists I
liked and the bands I liked.)

One of them turned out to be the perfect and is now doing the high end lifting in a good solid power trio that I am loving!

I then turned the profile off to 'not looking' but you still get an
email once a week with people that have opened your profile.
Seems to get about 10-20 hits a week.
