What should I get to make my Hubby be wireless?

I see complaints about the G30 looking like the plastic is fragile, but I haven't seen reports that it has actually broken or failed. Anybody have experiences one way or the other?

Also, other than the metal casing, what are the differences between the G30 and G50?

I found a G30 for $249 - I'm sure my musically talented half will post something about it once he unwraps and plays with it. I'm just hoping he hasn't noticed THIS thread and is surprised when it shows up!

Let me throw out one warning here - if you go with Line 6, stick with the "G" series. The "X" series that preceded it had some problems toward the end of the run. You can sometimes find the X2 really cheap nowadays (under $200) but try not to be tempted. I had one fail on its second gig - not cool at all.

That sucks dude. I own and currently still use a X2 (pre Line 6). No less than 350 shows played and zero issues. Even spilled a pint of Pale Ale on the receiver once....maybe you just got a bad one....
