What software works with Alesis iO|26

Wondering if anyone has tried the Alesis iO|26 mixer. It looks like you can record 8 simultaneous channels through firewire to a program.

A.) Has anyone used the Alesis iO|26 mixer? And is it as good as the company seems to say it is....

B.) What software are you successfully using with it? I've got Garageband, but I'd like to step up to a little bigger program. I've been looking at Adobe's Audition 2.0. Has anyone used this program? I used to record with Cool Edit Pro and to me, it was the best recording program ever. (IMHO)

I really haven't looked at SONAR, Logic, Pro-Tools, etc. We're a four piece band - vocals, keyboard, guitar, bass and drums. We play funked out music and want to be sort of experimental.

I know Cubase will work well with it because the LE version ships with it. Cubase LE is good but limited. :cool:
Give it a shot, you will most likely want to upgrade to Cubase SE, SX, SX3 or higher later on down the road.

I believe Logic is MAC only.

Sonar Producer Edition is extremely user friendly.

Pro Tools has pretty much joined forces with M-Audio and DidgiDesign in the PC market, but I am sure you could tweak it to work with just about anything, although I had a version that worked with ME only, a few years back.
