What strings have red silk at the headstock?

Just bought some, the steel versions have red felt, the nickles don't have anything.

I'd say ken Smith Boomers are more Orange than Red...

I cant remember the string brand but I once had a set with purple silks....pretty classy looking. Trace elliot use to make strings with green silks that were great!
purple silks are on the ghs boomers b-52s. ghs just confirmed this earlier in the thread.

You could also make the argument that there aren't a lot of purple threads used in the industry...

I think I grabbed the majority... I have a good 5 boxes remaining...I would say the Progressives is more of a redish purple then the purple on the Precision flats.
Also yes to keep production costs lower most string companies will produce one length A D and G strings and use a different length E and B string to adjust for different scale lenghts. No need to make extra A D and G strings to just make the silk 1.5" shorter when the longer ones will work on any instrument. It is really only with the E and B strings that have fitment issues.

I was also looking for the answer because I have a bass that has red silk on both ends and they sound AMAZING. I'm not sure if they're Boomers or Rotos.

Old thread but seems a useful place to request help in identifying the strings I need. I am trying to find out what strings are on my 5 string Peavey Cirrus so I can buy a set for my 6 string Cirrus. There is only red silk at the top and no taper on top or bottom. They are a bit mellow so I think they are nickel wound or coated. Please the the picture. Thanks in advance!!
You said there is no silk at the ball end, right? What color(s) are the ball ends themselves?
