Well, in my case, I'm leaning towards not, after a lot of testing and ABing today, including some recording.

I've been using the B3k for full distortion and the VT for a little dirt character- very little, actually, but I like what it does to cleaner part of the sound as well for tunes where I grab the pick and just want a different vibe then my otherwise pretty clean sound.

I was hoping the Vintage would replace both but I found myself just digging the character on the VT too much to ditch it. I liked it's low level distortion better than the warmer Vintage, though the vintage sounds good too. It's just pretty different.

I'm still A/Bing the Vintage for full dirt vs B3k and I think the Vintage will win out, but need to take it to a gig first. I'm more rock than metal and suspect the Vintage character will fit better with the band, though I love the B3k and have enjoyed it the last year.

For me it wouldn't.

I'm more of an Oxford/Liverpool guy, but I have a feeling the Vintage could easily replace an Oxford. It seems more "warm British" ala Orange than "Ampeg" which to me is a bonus:)

I'm eager to see how my B3K interacts with my Liverpool on the way. Should be aggressive with my Ric, judging from Guitar Rig4's Vox simulation with my B3K.

I have a clip of that combo if you're interested(but it's pretty sloppy, and it's in a mix with my horrible guitar playing:o )

Well I've made my decision today. I'm sending back my vintage to bassefx. No worries though, I'm getting a B7K instead. After speaking to some people, asking questions and playing with the vintage so much these last two days, I've realized it's not for me. I'm looking for something a bit more than what the vintage has to offer me. I still think this pedal is awesome, just not for me. I'm also getting rid of my VT to help fund a B7K and it will be my primary preamp on my board. I almost don't want to get rid of the VT but I don't think I'll use it much once I get a B7K. After playing with the VT for a bit now, I feel it's taking too much away from my sound as opposed to adding to it. With the set up I have anyway. It's great for a couple different settings for me, but it seems that I can't find a set dial in. I think the B7K will suit me much better.

Ha! That's great to hear. The B7K will probably give you the flexibility and tonal control you need!

After much consideration, obsession, Youtube videos and testimonials, I am almost positive that I will be very happy. It sucks its going to take 2 weeks or so to find out, but what can I do??! :hyper::bassist:

In the end Doug, you make, IMHO, very very awesome and usable products and cant wait to see what more you come up with over the years. I'm just trying to find the one that suits me best becasue I am definitely happy and want to stay in the Darkglass family!! :p

Has anybody who ordered direct received their pedal? I thought that might be the quicker way to go. Sorry to be impatient, but after seeing all these March and February orders arriving, I'm wondering what is up with my January 7th order.

Wow. Let me look into this, they were supposed to be shipped by order

I can see a tracking number in our system for a batch of Vintage's.

The first units are always limited because we can't make as many as we can sell.
But the pedal is currently in production as any other ;).
