It depends. Players on Talkbass really seem to love their dirt pedals, and love them a LOT... Like, "crank that gain all the way up or it's not a good pedal" a lot. Most of the demos I heard of the B3K were all really aggressive metal-ish demos, but I took a chance anyway and love it. I'm very much a low gain guy that uses overdrives to just barely warm up my sound... Which the B3K can still do. I usually have the drive knob around 7:00-8:00 at the most, for what that's worth to you.
