Yeah, but that would have been an easy fix-just cut a scarf joint and glue up a new headstock.
Maybe he finished the bass, picked it up, and played the lowest note, and it sent him into a trance...
I love a multi-stringed instrument as much as anyone, and I subscribe to the concept that a bass neednt only have 4 strings, but 14?!?!?!? I wonder at/about the motivation to build these kinds of basses, and if anyone would use one for anything other than solo work. Perhaps the term pragmatic simply has no application in this conversation/topic whatsoever.
