what to do with extra side input jack?

not sure, my pickups can be run in passive but I guess you can't bypass the audere with their pots/wiring.

The folks at Audere are very nice, I sent an email and they suggested adding a passive tone control. I may do that, but may just find something to plug the side jack hole and stick with the audere as is.

It would look much better If you used the side jack and plugged the hole in the control plate with one ofInvalid Link Removed

You can get those Hillman plugs in 7/8" for the jack plug, too.

Does the audere have a stacked pot? You could switch that for 2 singles. Just desolder the stacked and use wire to connect them separate.

Or you could use a rotary switch for series/parallel mod on the pickups. My Aguilar pre amp has the possibility to add a mid freq switch or a pot that can go from 400 to 800Hz. You could add that.

One other possibility is a ghost modular pickup system. You could mount the midi out in the side jack. If your into that sort of thing.

+1 on adding a passive tone control. Although my 71 Jazz has a side jack from a previous owner that I don't use and it does not bother me at all.
