I'm planning on using z-poxy to fill the grain on the padauk body I'm working on at the moment, but quite unsure what to use as a finish after that. I like the feel of tru-oil and still have quite a bit on hand that I can use. Is that a viable option or it will not last? Would something like lacquer work better? Or is z-poxy good enough both as a grain filler and a finish if more coats are applied? I'm not going for a glossy finish.

Well...if you want an oil finish, use an oil finish. If you want a hard, sprayed finish, use a lacquer or poly product.
I personally love an oil finish, so I would go that route. But there's nothing saying you can't spray poly over tru-oil. It works fine, and you can get the best of both worlds.
