What year did you get your first Ipod ?

Bought a new one last year for myself and one for my wife. We are yet to take them out of their "nifty" little white boxes.

I'm probably going to give mine to my nephew. I've realized that when I exercise I prefer to hear the world around me.

I got an iPod when I got my first computer - this iMac G4 in 2005 (see TB join date!).

Got an iPod 3rd gen 20G at the same time. I dropped it two years ago and had to replace it with a new iPod 120G.

I like the layout of the 3er gen better with the buttons in a row under the window and independent scroll wheel. Had an iPod repair store look at it to see if it could be repaired, but I cracked the mother board and it would be a little more expensive to repair than buy a new one. Having an extra 100G was worth it.

I have no cell. Def want an iPhone! Honey....?

I don't have an iPod, I have a SanDisk Sansa. Had it for years now. The poor thing is very abused.... I use it a lot on the garage.

Right now it is connected to my laptop at home and I am remotely loading it up with my "safe list" for the gig tonight. The safe list is mainly classic rock that is safe for a gig, minus all the songs we play.

Never got one because I don't buy into Apple's domination of my music inventory. I use my cell phone and rip music as needed.

I don't use apple products. I like using an OS that lets me decide what programs I use instead of forcing me to use theirs.

But then that's a topic for another thread.

04 or 05, got my first Ipod Mini, Free through a pepsi bottle cap thing, enter codes to download songs and one day a Ipod showed up with a pepsi logo on the back. Then I got a classic video in 06 -> Touch in 09 -> Iphone this past September.

My family gave me one in 2005 as a going away present when I was shipping out to Iraq. It failed and I got it fixed under warranty. In... 2007 or so I traded it for a really nice PdAg nib fountain pen/pencil set.
