I'm new here. And I've only been playing bass for a couple years so I'm not up to date on most of...ok ANY of the hip lingo the people on this site might know. So my question is: what are carrots? Are they some type of pick up? Or are people just being funny and actually mean the vegetable?

Lipsticks refer to the pickups made by Danelectro that were encased in a chrome lipstick tube. I believe lipstick tube pickups may still be made, but not sure who by.
