Whatcha watching?

There is a great article about how genocide can disappear into ambience and abstraction -> this is the central theme of the movie, the whole point of it. They all know what is going on on the other side of the wall, but it's abstract, it's just background noise to their comfortable lives.

The banality of evil. I thought the wife was the most interesting character as she was clearly comfortable with the exchange.

Baby Driver is one of most entertaining action movies I've seen in many years.
We finished it today and yeah, it was pretty great. We both love that kind of over the top ultraviolence so we enjoyed it.

I love that all of the action and music in Baby Driver are completely in sync
Definitely one of the best aspects of the movie!

Surprising amount is in tune as well. Heard of a couple of movies like that. BD is the first one I've seen.

Got to say long before I ever heard of such a thing, there was this.

That video kind of reminds me of that old VW commercial where the music syncs with elements of the video throughout -

The Hunger. It's a "sexy horror" anthology from the late 90s. "Sexy" basically means every episode has boobs ... It's fun to see some well known contemporary actors, in early roles and very young. Daniel Craig definitely grew out of his awkward phase. :D

I remember really liking the film from the 80's with David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve and directed by Tony Scott (maybe saw it as a double bill with Cat People). I should revisit that. Haven't seen the series but recall it having Bowie as well. Does it hold up?

Yah, Bowie steps in as The Host about halfway through, but I haven't gotten there yet. So far not bad. A bit cheesy but fun, and the occasional decent twist.

Picked this up as check out as a random chance at the library. It was really pretty good.
