but....do you also have short fingers to go with those small hands? And a man's small hand is still way bigger than a woman's small hand..........
By the way, if you have small hands and short fingers then you usually have a body that goes with it......i.e. short arms......and if you can't reach the first fret or the tuners then you really don't have a choice......

Man get a 4 string Brubaker Brute Single Cut. Better quality, decent price, great tone and construction and you'll love the way it feels in your hands.
Ibanez SR!!! This way you aren't playing a micro instrument or short scale, but it won't hurt your hands at the same time. Those necks will spoil you though, you won't want to play anything else lol
I have small hands with small fingers to match, smaller than some women hands i've seen. 
Contrary to most advice i got, a short-scale is not recommended unless you have short *arms*, dealing with a particularily beefy neck or just like the sound of a shorter scale.
My recommendation is finding a Thin neck, coupled with maybe a small width nut, though thats optional, i play a washie with a pretty wide nut (42mm - almost like a P) and long neck (still 34" though) but its thin enough to be playable in the low frets.
I'd recommend trying out Ibanez or ESP/LTDs they have really playable necks for small hands, but pretty much everything works except SX(essex) because of the incredibley chunky necks, MMs are also a bit of a stretch but they still work(for small hands).
