I'm looking at upgrading to a new bass. I'm a big fan of Ibanez and am looking at the Ibanez SRX360. (You can find all the specs at ibanez.com but sadly I can't link you right there.) Just wanted to know if its a good $430 to drop.

I'm looking for a pretty sturdy bass that I can play fairly hard and fast since I play punk and metal. I have browsed the classifieds and I've decided I want a brand new one. It isn't a waste of money because this is money I have saved and set aside just for this.
Well if you want my opinion on what I like (I'm in a deathmetal band, check out the link in my sig), I'd have to say get something with active EMGs. My main bass is an Ibanez SRT800DX, and I love it. I've never been a fan of the lower end Ibanez basses sadly.
I totally respect your opinion and will keep that in mind. I don't go up to the big city until next saturday so I still have time to look at others, plus I can browse and ask questions in the store as well. I like your band by the way. Pretty good.
As far as I'm concerned, you can't go wrong with an Ibanez. In fact, my next purchase (sooner or later) will be a BTB. Played it, loved it, have to have it.

Ibanez's are good. Id go for a soundgear instead with soapbar rather then mm type pups though. Just personal sound pref. Of course as long as you get a bass whose pup style you favor you can always replace those pups with your pref version of them.

BTW, if you do end up getting that Ibanez you posted a pic of, keep in mind it looks like it has MM pickups, but they are actually a different shape. They may be the same size as EMG35s, but I'm not sure. Anyway, if you ever wanted to upgrade those pickups, yo would have to do some research as to which ones will fit.I actually found someone on kijiji selling a used SRX470 for $300 so I'm going to check it out this weekend and see if its the real-deal.
