Wow dude. That good huh? I can't imagine just having one pedal to fulfill all my dirt needs. I know the OFD is a lot of dirt in one box but still.... Wow.

I wish my manta would get here already! It said fri del but from the looks of the tracking I don't think it'll be here till mon.

I think the new thread should be entitled "the rehab" :)

Using the midi hub I think it could if it sounds as good in a band mix as the others I have. With the midi hub as it is you could have as many sounds as the OFD is capable of in presets.. I thought I'd try it out.

Hi everyone...ok ok ok

Coming: IE Xero Deluxe and TC Corona and TC Flashback and Markbass Mini Boost

Going: Zoom MS-60B and EHX Bass MicroSynth


Ditching DSP pedals (ewwwwwwwww) and cranky bass synth for an all analog signal path (two new TCs are analog/dry through with DSP on top, that's ok!) and making way towards some Iron Ether mayhem. Thinking about pairing the Xero with an Oxide BUT I want to find out how it pairs with a Duality too! Mini Boost will drive my B3K harder than my passive Jazz can alone and also let me scoop mids BEFORE the rest of the chain instead of just after.=, which is why I went with the MB with it's VPF. Also it's swank with hot yellow knobs.

Yeah, the more I play with the OFD/Manta/Orbital trio, the more I want the dual expression pedal and the midi hub.

If I did not already have the Nimbus, I would get their reverb pedal and I am also eyeing the multiwave sb2 right now.

You put those pedals together with the midi hub and you can simply use one pedal click to change everything! And, at that point, you may as well get a midi loop controller thing and just control everything!

You will love the Thumpinator. Put it at the beginning of your chain and watch how everything becomes more efficient. Makes for a great buffer as well.

Max makes GREAT quality gear!

Now I just need to wire em up.

I like it but envelope filtering love just isn't there like it used to be. Either it's too subtle to be noticeable or it's too noticeable.

same here. I on almost all digi pedals, can tell that they're digital, like my zoom B2.1, MS60B, MS70CDR, my EQD ghost echo, and my TC hall of fame, but the with the exception of the MWPro all of my other SA pedals sound analog, and i've always been a dyed in the wool analog/tube guy.

:) I don't mind DSP effects if they are good BUT I DO MIND having my entire signal sampled and reconstructed. Some DSP on top of analog/dry through is OK though. :bassist:

For now, anyway. :ninja:


On a side note, I want an Oxide so bad I can taste it.

Was considering starting an "analog, digital, and modeling: can your hear the difference" thread. Perhaps I shall. I do use and enjoy digital effects - Whammy, POG, Gigadelay & other digi delays, Akai Deep Impact. So it's not about putting down digital effects... It's about whether you can hear the difference. Some people like to pretend that you can't tell, or that a digital software algorithm can perfectly and indistinguishably emulate an analog something - which I obviously do not buy. I can always tell the difference, in my experience, particularly with distortion or amp modeling. The way I see it, analog and digital both have pluses and minuses. Analog sounds better, but is less flexible by far. Digital sounds digital, but the customization and feature possibilities can open up new avenues for creativity (hot hand being a great example). I keep all my pedals isolated in effects loops, so my dry is always pure and analog. Anyway, I don't mean to hijack the coming and going thread, those are just my two cents.

If I can't have a tape delay, I actually prefer the sound of a good digital delay to an analog delay, for bass anyway, because I don't like dark sounding echo... For what it's worth.

Yes that exists but the only benefit (that I can think of right now while I'm mostly thinking about lunch) is repeatable settings and more precise/complex timing and modulation. But, if you're modulating an analog signal with a digital one, there is still the fact that the digital signal is quantized and it can only affect the analog signal in a quantized manner...however high resolution and good low pass reconstruction filtering makes this not much of a point.

But can you hear the difference? As long as I have an analog path through my board, hybrid is A-OK with me, be it digital modulation or DSP on top.
