What's going on with Pino's Bass?

What's going on with Pino's bass in this pic? I've never seen his fiesta PBass with a whole bunch of humbukcers before? Was this a special ting for the Who gig? This looks like a pair of Thunderbird pickups and a neck mudbucker.

The mudbucker is a stranger choice but maybe he just wanted it too.
