Looks like a custom job to me, what with the Matt Freeman inlays and all.

I couldn't help but gufaw at that. The shape is freakin' rad, but those inlays are gawdy as hell.

hahaha i just am amazed...tim is fat!!!

and that drummer...he doesnt replace bretts left handedness...

    sigh.

    that bass is sweet though.

haha even the inlays...as gross as they are. they make me want to get a bass with "douchebag" on the fretboard

    I like Matt Freeman, but...

Bass player, using a custom built bass (with their name inlaid into the fretboard, no less), playing a solo during a breakdown? Definitely NOT punk, IMO. No amount of 'Manic Panic' hair coloring can tell me otherwise... :)

*runs for cover after potentially flame-inducing statement* :bag:

Just had to repost this video again of Maxwell Murder when he goes into the solo at around 1 minute. And about the bass; "So who plays Hill instruments , people who are well versed, professional musicians!" thats some douche bag stuff.

Just to clarify, I wasn't taking a stab at Freeman's abilities as a player or Hill instruments (looks & sounds like a cool bass). I was just saying that a solo such as this (once again, IMO which means "in my opinion") doesn't = "punk". And isn't Rancid a "punk" band? It could be that I don't have the proper meaning of the word/philosophy down. And I'm not talking punk in the Green Day/Blink 182/Good Charlotte sense of the word either...

That's just my take on it... "douche bag stuff" or not. :)

FYI.* He wasn't playing this one when I saw them 2 weekends ago.* It was the Fender fretted Franklin.* I posted a pic under the bassists forum.* I don't think Tim was as fat either.* What I like about the band is that they don't have to limit themselves or confine themselves based on what "punk" is.* To me that IS what "punk" is.* Bass solo, inlays, reggae songs, Tim's rap albums, Tim working with Pink....* Whatever, I dig it.* Top 3 favorite bands.
