Our local university has a "tool library" for $75 a month you can bring your materials and use their tools... Sixty bucks sounds like a bargain to me.

Altho pretty much everything else in that shop that I've wanted to borrow he just goes "Yeah man, sure, anything you need, none of it has been touched for like 20 years." I've still got his four Bessey parallel clamps that I borrowed last year. And he told me to just keep the hand plane, it's mine. Yeah, I can totally see that now that I actually ran something through it, even for as short lived as it was. I've been watching the used market for something small(-ish), but they don't pop up much.I got my drum sander mostly to help thickness and prepare panels for acoustic instruments, but I have to say - it quickly became one of those "how the heck did I get anything done without it" tools...

You could use FretFind2d to plan it all out and then print that full size. Fret that mother clear to the bridge! Nobody has done that yet!This one will probably look a little strange and not as pretty as a fretless Diva. I'm doing the full length fingerboard (broken up by the pup), but I was going to install 24 frets.
Not sure how that will look. I have no way to do a detailed 3D drawing. I may fret it to 36, maybe for looks,though I'll never play up there. Guess we'll see in Dec during the mock up.

It's really not that hard to be honest. Look up some Youtubes and you'll see. It's very similar to doing fiberglass work, which we've done plenty of in our race shop. It just involves laying down some of the resin, then some of the mat (be it fiberglass or carbon fiber mat) then some more of the resin. The biggest trick is setting up the "mold", whatever that may be.That stuff is currently a bit above my pay grade.
Though, I would like to learn and experiment with CF in the future.
