What's the difference between...

Fender American Deluxe Jazz and Carvin SB4000/5000? Obviously the aesthetics are a little bit different, but is there anything overwhelmingly superior that one of the basses has that the other does not? They're both around the same price range ($1600)...

Okay, so I guess we've established that the shapes are drastically different. They're also made by different companies. They also have different head-stocks. They also offer different colors.

What about the things that aren't readily apparent from just looking at them on the internet? How's the build quality? What about the quality control? Weight? Pickups? Etc?
