What's the longest timeframe you've driven?

drove from west virginia(the wv on the other side of PA to NJ by NYC. i think it was 11 hours. only stopped once for gas. man did i want to get laid after a month of being on the road.


i know on that tour i drove a nice 14 hour clip, but forget where it was.

18-20 hours several times, mostly going from Pennsylvania to Colorado and back. Once you get past 12 hours, it seems like you break through the wall, and I only stopped because I thought I should. I have a dad and a brother who both seem to share my ability to seriously road trip. I have another brother and a mom who are less "gifted', albeit good passengers on long trips.

My Family and I drove from Niagara Falls, Canada, to Flagstaff, Arizona, with a stop in Cincinnati.

Took us 3 days. Including hotel breaks. But, we left at 6:00am every time, and got there late.

Why does it seem SO much easier making a 12 hour round trip with little to no stops, than an 8 hour one way? I do 6-12 drives 2-4 times a week and don't mind. I HATE the 8-9 hour ride to Georgia though...

well considering I drove Semi for a period of time in my life, the answer for me is 63 hours straight. N.Little Rock, AR to Delaware City, DE to Wytheville, VA. Got to the Flying J T/S and hit the sleeper for 14 hours straight sleep....LMAO never tried that again.

Clarksville, Arkansas to Flagstaff Arizona, 1,100 miles, 16 hours, including 5 stops, one over an hour for dinner. I spent a lot of time at 85-90 mph.

19 hrs straight from Little Rock to Syracuse. After about 12 hours, you get into that "zone" and just keep going...

I did a 48 hour round trip starting and ending in Dublin.

Drove from Dublin to Belfast, ferry from Belfast to Stranraer (Scotland).

Stranraer to Glasgow.

Glasgow to Edinburgh.

Edinburgh to Wolverhampton (England).

Wolverhampton to Birmingham.

Birmingham to London (ouskirts in fairness, but London all teh same).

London to Hollyhead via Cardiff, and late night ferry back to Dublin. (map attached if you're unsure of it)

All was work related as far as London (dropping off and picking up stuff) where I had intended staying over for a few days to catch up with relatives, but no sooner I hit the outer skirts I got a call to head back home due to a family illness.

Tiring, but I did mnage to get a few hours sleep on the ferries and about an hour's rest in Cardiff.

Once drove from Sturbridge, MA to Disneyworld in Florida non stop. Piloting a 40+ foot RV. 26.2 hours with one 1.5 hour nap. Never again. The ride home took a tad longer.
