Logged in tonight and just about every post I visit has annoying pop-up ads. Has talkbass.com sold out? If so, I will certainly cancel my account.

Use a pop-up blocker. Every now and then TB asks me to turn it off.

I never see popups. But then again I have webroot and its popup blocker blocks everything- sometimes stuff I want to see.
I have ABP plus Ghostery. I disabled both on TB to see what would happen. I don't know why, but ads for HAIR CARE products appear at the bottom. I don't mind the music-related ads, but Tresseme' shampoo, fer cry-pete? I especially loathe auto-play video ads, when my speakers are on and I have to go thru all my background-open tabs to find out where the extraneous video sounds or monologues are coming from; it's a hassle.
Mad Love for Ghostery! It's great for confounding most pop-up ads, save for the really pernicious ones that make me have to restart my browser. It also blocks most/all trackers. If these d-bags want my browsing history and habits, they're gonna have to come to my house and pull it straight off my hard drive.
But as far as "hair care ads" are concerned, I think there might be a reason for them showing up here. It's right on the tip of my tongue. Damn, what is it?!

Again, if you got a floating ad at the bottom, you weren't logged in... See my post above.
Logged-in users see a banner at the top, and a banner at the bottom. Plus one sidebar ad on the homepage/forum home page. That's it. No auto-play video ads should EVER have sound. If they do please submit a report to us.

Sorry to have to disagree. I get all sorts of unwanted ad traffic when I *am* logged in, both pop-up and floating bar. But what I get differs from computer to computer, so I expect the blocking devices on the individual computers play a role here.
Visit malwarebytes and run a scan. We do NOT show ANY pop-up ads on TalkBass. The floating bar at the bottom appears for unregistered guests only. If you're getting pop-ups, you have MALWARE on your computer. We've seen this many other times with other TB'ers.
No can do; it's not my computer that shows the pop-ups. It belongs to someone else, and they will have to trouble-shoot it.
