rent-taking or rent-seeking is a means of establishing and protecting a monopoly. your argument assumes that new jersey voters voted on this issue or knew that this issue would be come about and that there was an opposition to it, and that once the issue is raised and they voiced their concerns, that those concerns could do anything to counter the bags of money car dealerships and out of state car manufactures can legally throw at politicians. whatever name you call it, its still the unchecked power of capital.

Actually it isn't. But as long as you have to hire a professional to take care of the job it's gonna cost thousands to get buried. A hole, some stabilizer and a box and the body is gone.

Highwaymen (armed robbers) used to take your money by threat of violence but now people rob via contract, if you default on a poopy deal that has gone south then your credit rating will be robbed as well. People writing the contracts have waaay too much power.

And drug pushers/dealers used to wear purple suits and let you try their stuff for free on the street corners, telling you it will make you feel "nice". Now they wear white jackets, tell you the same, and offer you free trials on TV commercials. I know people are convinced it's a completely different thing, but truth is, it isn't. They're just dressed differently, and found a way to act within the law.
