What's your "Bass Stance"

I move around a lot but it's generally like this:

pretty much this for the most part, though I move around and jump a lot, and sometimes I just stand regularly and hold the bass. I don't make too many faces either while playing bass.

I play with my bass on my right hip tillted at a 60 degree angle. my Right knee bent, left leg back.

I can't help but dance to my own groove...so I guess it varies with what I am playing.

I try to move/dance/sway back n fourth... and such..depends on the song I guess.

I don't look like I play metal or rock at all . But sometimes, when we get into a heavy song, I tend to move with my upper body ala Cliff Burton by . There's also a part in Killing In The Name by Rage Against The Machine where I'm tremolo picking with my fingers for something like 8 measures starting at the 5th fret and going up to the 19th. I usually lift my bass up vertically when I play this part, and I tend to make quite a grimace. When I do these, I tend to move my feet out to a wide bass, both knees bent, left leg out slightly in front.

Except my bass doesn't hang low enough and my balance was off.

Depends. If I'm at a basketball game in the bleachers I'll have my right foot on the seat in front of me. If I'm on flat ground I like to run around and dance. Or stand in one place and headbang.

Notice that, though my stance remained the same, I do have a progressive mid-section that changes from year to year 2002 was probably about 180 and 2010 was about 265, hehe. Time to hit the gym, folks.

I cant seem to stay still playing. depending on the genre, I change up where my bass sits. My problem is trying to not get tangled in my cables while I pace.

While playing the verse of a song, I place my left foot 19.38 centimeters in front of my right foot, maintaining a spacing of 28.2 centimeters between my feet (measured from center of arch to center of arch), with my left foot pivoted outwardly 7.5 degrees from parallel with my right foot.

During the chorus, I change it up by reducing the left foot pivot angle from 7.5 degrees down to 4.3 degrees, however, I continue to maintain the 28.2 centimeter spacing from arch to arch.

Last week during rehearsal, in the middle of a song, just for fun I tried reducing my foot spacing from 28.2 down to exactly 24 centimeters. Everyone in the band stopped playing at that moment, and the singer looked at me and said "dude......that was rad."
