The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you are alive, and die only when you are dead. To love, to be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of the life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.

Social media has been eroding society for such a long time. Social media’s such a misnomer. I mean, it could be used for so much good but so much bad comes out of it. I mean, it’s already pretty much torpedoed civil discourse. It has no respect for the law or defamation or sub judice. You know, they don’t mind posting snuff videos. It’s just a law unto itself. Where we’re up to now, it’s completely desensitising a whole generation that lives on it, completely desensitised to it. And it operates in parallel to the operations of all of us here and the organisations in which we work. We can’t publish any of the stuff they do. We’re bound by defo-rules and everything else. And basic decency.

We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.
--Shakespeare' "The Tempest"

The "dream within a dream" that E. A. Poe mentioned in his poem, I suppose.

When you clean out a vacuum cleaner, you become a vacuum cleaner. --unknown, but it's funny LOL. After cleaning the vacuum cleaner, then take a shower, is the shower a vacuum cleaner cleaner cleaner? And then you clean the shower, does that make...nevermind, my head's starting to hurt...

My thing is, I really don’t need my refrigerator to talk to my toaster. They’ve gotten along for a long time without ever having a conversation.
