What's your gauge? (pick and string)

Strings for my main bass are DR Black Beauties, standard 6 string set. 125 - 105 - 85 - 65 - 45 - 30.

I use a bunch of picks. But I mostly use the purple, 1.14mm, tortex Everly Star pick, and the Wedgie 3.1mm Hard rubber pick. I sometimes use their 5mm Hard rubber pick too. I have their soft rubber picks too, but while they sound good, they wear out very fast on roundwound bass strings, so I don't use them often. I'll also use a 1.0mm & 0.88mm Everly Star pick now and then too. I keep a bunch of other kinds in my gig bag too that I let guitarists take when they need a pick. lol

DR High Beams Or Sadowsky Blue label only. I think they sound like the same strings live or in the studio and that's good. Fretted or fretless I put on the same string.

45-65-85-105-(125)

Picks, when I use them, are medium of whatever brand .70mm or .73mm. As long as they're NOT nylon or anything but a plain old pick.

I also teach guitar and bass and find the off brands sold by the hundreds on ebay are better than the overpriced name brand picks. They sound and feel the same but last way longer.

The price of picks is rediculous, but that's another matter. I can only assume an automated machine spits out millions of these a day. I remember 5 picks for 25 cents when I started playing.
