Darkglass amp was run clean, got tons of clang and growl from the Tech21 DP3X... my ears were happy and my pants were flappin'!

Gigged tonight with my loud hard rock band, and that meant the Bergantino NV610, my favorite cab bar none.Darkglass amp was run clean, got tons of clang and growl from the Tech21 DP3X... my ears were happy and my pants were flappin'!
Best pic I could get with our underpowered light show.![]()
A custom Zon Sonus. Very happy with it.What’s that headless bass?

Curious what venue this was?Just got home from a 4 hour(!) acoustic jazz gig in a new chic restaurant on the south shore of Long Island. The trio was on a strip next to a staircase next to dinner tables on one side and which overlooked the bar on the other side.
Other than my upright bass and bow, there was no other gear used. No amp at all, which I love — I love the natural sound of my bass, especially when juxtaposed with an acoustic piano and a super musical drummer. That said—the diners got loud (this is downstate NY—people are loud here)… so for the next time I play this joint, I will bring my DPA mic as they do have a house system I and the pianist (it’s mic’ed) can use. Super fun gig, and I learned a lot about projecting unamplified bass over loud background chatter. Pianist had the same issue as me—projecting over the noise. I made it kind of a zen exercise where I would choose less notes in favor of more weight and projection.
