When does dislike turn into hate ?

That is dealing with people specifically. I typically don't use the word hate too often or lightly though.

I love this saying I heard "Hate is not the opposite of love. Indifference is the opposite of love." Gotta have some emotional attachment of some sort to hate.
Being ex military, I can take out the enemy, and still respect they were just doing their job and I was doing mine. I don't hate much. Except Crystal Meth. There is an emotional reason there.

when dislike turns to hate for me is when the person I dislike starts to dislike me and/or starts doin stuff to tick me off.
This is going to sound real sappy but, I really don't personally hate anyone so I dont know.. I hate things - the really nasty drugs and such, people I dont know - pedaphiles, people who hurt kids, and so on but that's it.
There are people in my life that I dislike, and there are people that have made me angry as hell, but I can say that I've never outright hated anyone. I guess I've just been lucky or maybe naive, but either way I can honestly say that I dont hate anyone. Of course there are ex's that hate me so I guess it evens out

Dislike is generally an aversion to something.

How do I know. I was once best friends with a great guy. After knowing him for three years, he turned out to be THE BIGGEST SHOWOFF CUM POSER I EVER KNOWN/SAW IN MY LIFE. Ok, that was dislike.
Then he weaseled me out of a band that I created.
Now THAT'S HATE!
