In the movie "When Harry Met Sally" (1989, an oldie!) the dialogue goes like this:

Billy Crystal (Harry Burns): You realize of course that we could never be friends.
Meg Ryan (Sally Albright): Why not?
Billy Crystal (Harry): What I'm saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape or form - is that men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way.
Meg Ryan (Sally): That's not true. I have a number of men friends and there is no sex involved.
Billy Crystal (Harry): No you don't.
Meg Ryan (Sally): : Yes I do.
Billy Crystal (Harry): No you don't.
Meg Ryan (Sally): Yes I do.
Billy Crystal (Harry): You only think you do.
Meg Ryan (Sally): You say I'm having sex with these men without my knowledge?
Billy Crystal (Harry):: No, what I'm saying is they all WANT to have sex with you.
Meg Ryan (Sally): They do not!
Billy Crystal (Harry): Do too.
Meg Ryan (Sally): They do not.
Billy Crystal (Harry): Do too.
Meg Ryan (Sally): How do you know?
Billy Crystal (Harry):Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her.
Meg Ryan (Sally): So, you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive?
Billy Crystal (Harry): No. You pretty much want to nail 'em too.
Meg Ryan (Sally): What if THEY don't want to have sex with YOU?
Billy Crystal (Harry): Doesn't matter because the sex thing is already out there so the friendship is ultimately doomed and that is the end of the story.
Meg Ryan (Sally): Well, I guess we're not going to be friends then.
Billy Crystal (Harry): I guess not.
Meg Ryan (Sally): That's too bad. You were the only person I knew in New York.

Is this true? Do guys really want to nail the girls they are just friends with? I seriously have guy friends that I don't want to nail, but maybe it isn't the other way around.

Guys ALWAYS want to. Trust me, if you have a guy for a friend, he's already had a fantasy about you. Whether he'd ever say anything, or act on it is something else completely. And if you ask him, he'll deny it (out of friendship), the entire time thinking about that fantasy.

It's absolutely positively unequivically TRUE.

However that doesnt mean that as we're talking with a female "friend" we're constantly thinking unclean thoughts or anything. It's hard to explain but we CAN be "just friends", but the thought absolutely does cross our minds simply because it's just part of a man's psyche. We're just a bunch a horny buggers and cant really help it..... we do do a good job of keeping it in check at times though.

I've been in a situation or two where I could have acted on some "thoughts", but I took the high road and chose not to for the sake of friendship, which I felt good about. But........ had it been at a moment of weakness........ GrRrRrrRRRrRrRrrrrrrowl

It's true that most guys would be willing to have sex with an attractive friend, but that doesn't mean that most guys would chase it. I have several close female friends who I think are very attractive (physically, mentally, socially, etc.), but I would never say or do anything to try to convince them to do anything more than just be my friend.

Of course, if the guy receives an offer, then all bets are off. I've turned down a couple because I knew that a few fun nights would turn into something long-term that I wasn't ready for, and I didn't want to shoot down a friendship for it. Guys aren't total pigs, but we do have wandering minds... it's the ones who know how to separate their thoughts/fantasies from reality who are worth keeping around.

The guy I'm sort-of seeing has a lot of friends that are girls. In fact, he mostly has friends that are girls. Some of these girls are fat, unattractive and married with kids.

What does THAT mean then? Should I be worried that he likes fat, married chicks?
This is not to say that guys only surround themselves with women they'd like to sleep with...only that they've considered it with everyone that they know.

No, be glad that he likes women. My entire life, I've always hung around with girls more than guys. Mostly because the conversations were (and still are) far more interesting and insightful.

I can find something...anything, that is physically attractive in every woman. And if a woman has a great personality, is intelligent and sure of herself, then all the better.

Regardless of how unattractive they might seem, he probably still has had some kind of fantasy about all of them...even if it's just some weird, twisted, SM thing. :eyebrow:

That pretty much sums it up. Heck, guys will have thoughts about any woman he comes into contact with on a regular basis; coworkers, teachers, neighbors, waitresses, bartistas, etc... We don't neccessarily want to, but it happens.

I do not want to have sex with every woman I meet. I will have to admit that there are some women I have thought about it. I feel like the solid relationship I have with my wife makes it possible for me to be happy, and not dreaming of sex with other women. For some men, they dream of sex with other women all the time because they are not totally happy with their current wife/GF. Not always, just in some cases.

My wife reads TB with me sometimes, so I really need to stop right now. I don't like sleeping on the couch. :D

I've thought about having sex with women who don't even exist.

You mean the ones that are always in a great mood and always approve of everything you do and allow you to hang out with the guys without having to check in every 15 mins and think it's awesome when you fart/burp out loud and love the way you look in you fav pair of old nasty jeans and can listen to you banter on incessantly about music and bass guitars and who are always in the mood for wanton sex and who somehow manage to look incredibly pretty while also maintaining a hot bod? Oh and they never cut their hair short. Those ones you mean? yeah me too:hiding:

See, for me I tend to keep it simplified.

My imaginary woman would take her ***** and **** my ***** with it, turn it around while ***** with whip cream and ***** on her ***** and say "please sir may I have another".........

......right after serving me a sandwich so I can eat while she does the above.
