Metal just doesnt get the support that it did in the 80s/90s from record companies. Plenty of good bands out. Just go looking. Start looking local and support them.

I used to hate growls until I started listening to bands with singers that mixed clean and growled vocals (Opeth, Amorphis) and learned to appreciate good growling. I'm glad that I did because now I get to discover amazing new bands like Hamferð:
