Where are the midrange medium scale basses?

That's what I'm afraid of - but since SSB parts are not in high demand, they have very little stock (i.e. no screaming deals), so you'd probably end up getting custom orders for both neck and body. And that's about $850-$900 already gone, with just $100 or so for everything else, and that's not considering that assembly isn't free (it's either bring it to someone that knows what they're doing or doing it yourself, and your time isn't free). I guess I'll have to budget some more.
Warmoth can easily get into the $1200‐$1500 range if you buy all new, depending on the hardware and electronics of course.

That being said, I love my Warmoth 32," scale fretless. It sounds killer and is my main player. It's a little heavier than I would have liked, but it's a reasonable weight.

Also, Warwick makes a 32" scale rockbass corvette that's about $800 - $900. You have to special order it from the US distributor, assuming you're in the US. They quoted me about 4 weeks turn around time.

I've thought about picking up a 5-string model from them.

Heyyyy I did not know a 32" warwick was a thing! Thanks for the tip, off to find reviews/clips.

I just got a medium scale Squier CV Jaguar PJ bass and love it. Ticks a lot of boxes for me. 32 is awesome because you get the best of both worlds. The beefier bottom end of a 30 inch but you get the top end and definition from the 34 thats usually lost in a 30. String tension is also perfect on a 32 IMO. Im a new fan. No idea why there are so few medium scale basses. Way more 30 inch short scales around and there might actually be more 28.6 inch sub-short scale basses than medium scale.
