Rickenbackers are 33.25" if you don't mind an extra inch or so...
Thanks for the suggestion, however I couldn't stand the ergonomics of the Rickenbacker even before developing wrist issues...

Warmoth can easily get into the $1200‐$1500 range if you buy all new, depending on the hardware and electronics of course. That's what I'm afraid of - but since SSB parts are not in high demand, they have very little stock (i.e. no screaming deals), so you'd probably end up getting custom orders for both neck and body. And that's about $850-$900 already gone, with just $100 or so for everything else, and that's not considering that assembly isn't free (it's either bring it to someone that knows what they're doing or doing it yourself, and your time isn't free). I guess I'll have to budget some more.
OK - horses for courses...Thanks for the suggestion, however I couldn't stand the ergonomics of the Rickenbacker even before developing wrist issues...
Also, Warwick makes a 32" scale rockbass corvette that's about $800 - $900. You have to special order it from the US distributor, assuming you're in the US. They quoted me about 4 weeks turn around time.
I've thought about picking up a 5-string model from them.
