No one seems to be carrying them much. Is it normal that it'll take this long after NAMM for the new stuff to hit the stores?

Where are the new Ibanez Basses?

I have the new TMB605 on order at Sweetwater. I am told the first shipment is expected the first week of May.
That's good to know. I can rest a bit now. The 5 string TMBs are the fattest necks that Ibanez have right now and I really like clubby necks. I hate "modern C". I could use another clubby neck for D std tuning. Plus, if anything happens to my ATK305 and my fav ATK805, I'll be stuck with Warmoth Jazz 5 as my only option for a clubby neck. I'm not a huge fan of the J body and it's heel block.
Just bought the SR405EQM at GC tonight. It looked and felt great with lots of sound variety. I love the neck. Everything about it.
I have, average man hands. Enough said there, I don't want to get political.
I started out on Ibanez years ago. When I started playing again last year I purposely stayed away from them so I could get a different perspective. Glad I did as I love my P bass. But couldn't get into a jazz style from any maker.
I knew I would eventually get an Ibanez again. The spacing is tight but the neck feels great to me. Not as thin as I remember from 92 either. This thing is very well built. The second I played it felt right. It's also the first active that I really like. The weight is so low. I believe this will be my #1.
My first bass is still hanging on the wall, an SR800LE that I bought new long ago. I never took to it. It feels cramped, like playing a spoon. My main basses now are an ATK305 and an ATK805, both with nice chunky necks, none of that modern C stuff for me.
I don't have any loyalty to any company. It just turns out that the two best basses for me that I have ever tried have been Ibanez. I'm guessing that among Fender basses a Roger Waters, the old blue Steve Harris, or a 50s Reissue P bass would probably have the kind of neck that fits my hands. But, those are 4 strings, etc. Ibanez seems to be the only major bass manufacturer that is willing to cover multiple bass angles.
The Talman basses have even thicker necks than the ATKs. Hopefully they don't have a V shape.
Unfortunately, Ibanez is producing their affordable stuff in a country whose government is promoting bigotry (Indonesia). There's just no winning unless you can afford a luthier. Then you can pay the right person to produce the right instrument(s) for you.

So much quality coming from there now. Ibanez has been a big part of that. Too bad about the conditions.
Sweet! Where did you get it? Love the BTB body shape and bridge. Wish the neck were not so flat and wide.
Maybe you should have your fingers altered? J/k.
The basses are probably nice enough to justify it.

I've had it ordered from Sweetwater taking advantage of the 36 months 0% interest deal for a while and got word yesterday from my Rep that it came in. Should be here tomorrow. This color must be harder to get because the next shipment he said was showing in May. I've owned the BTB1405 Premiums before and they are amazing in quality and tone.

The only problem with the awesome split bridge is that now there will be a new thing to argue about regarding tone and note reproduction.
I've owned several with that setup and the sustain is the best I've ever seen. Now of course the Neck-through and 35' scale helps to but the bridge does make a difference.

Still alive. I like it, but I wanted to have a little more time with it before giving a full review. Short version:
- Beautiful.
- Sounds good.
- Sustains well.
- Very light (8 lb 3 oz stock, 8 lb 1 oz with Ultralites and Loxx strap locks).
- Slightly wider neck (compared to my BTB33) easy to accommodate to.
- Balances less well than my BTB33 (which balances perfectly), even with lightweight tuners.
