Where are we with powered (active) bass cabs?

Did you find anything? Or what are you using these days?

I've been searching for a powered cab for my Double Bass for a few years. Tried a few combos, and so far I haven't been impressed.

I need something lightweight so I can carry Double Bass, Preamp & Cab in one go or put it on a small trolley.

My guitarist bought the Headrush Pedalboard and the 12" & 8" full range powered cabs rated at 1,000watts RMS?

The 12" sounds firm and full but it weighs 35lbs. The 8" is ok at low volumes and only weighs 20lbs. I've used the 8 regularly with a DI/preamp at low stage volume mostly folk/country vibe (no drums).

The 12" might be ok for an electric bass stage monitor.

I went a completely different direction. When the Mesa TT800 came out, along with the very compact, lightweight, and ridiculously loud Subway cabs, my search was over. I don't regret it one bit. I now have the TT amd two of the Subway 115 cabs. I'm all set.

Last week I played a small bar and took just the head as a fancy DI. This week I'm playing an outdoor party. So both cabs are coming (very large yard and part of a rivier we're trying to cover).

My rig is small, modular, loud, and sounds great. I'm all set.

That Mesa TT800 has it all, been checking those out for my next rig. The retail on them out here in Australia is pretty high though I could see it lasting at least 10yrs. My current Genz Benz has lasted 10.
