Latency can also be an issue of course. If you're gonna use midi/softsynths you'll need a pc that's powerful enough to handle low latency when the plugins/tracks start to add up. If you're not using midi, just make sure the interface has direct monitoring and latency should be an issue (although the metering on all plugins will have a delay with high latency, which can be VERY annoying...).
Also, I STRONGLY recommend getting a pc with a grounded power cable. Consumer level laptops with ungrounded plugs combined with an ungrounded usb-interface can be an absolute nightmare (hum/noise).
You should also get about 3x as much storage space as you think you'll need. If you're gonna install any sample libraries, even more!
