Where do you buy your used basses?

I have learned very quickly in my very short time here that buying used is generally the best way to go. My question is... where? Every time I have done a search I can never find any used models of the bass I am trying to sell! Where do you buy yours?

I've never purchased anything on the TB classifieds, but they're pretty awesome.

I've gotten some great deals on ebay, BUT...know the instrument you're after. You don't wanna get beat on a cheap knock-off or worse still, an outright fake.

A seller who's willing to seriously communicate is a MUST.

I tend to find awesome gear and basses at pawn shops. There are plenty of those in the tampa bay area.

Ebay is definitely a winner. It's a buyers market not really a sellers unless you run a business. You can get great basses at low prices sometimes.

This aint gonna help much, but you asked....

I buy *all* my basses from friends and/or people i know.

The one time I purchased a new bass from a store (GC...i know, i know!), i was ultimately disappointed because I paid way too much for it, and had to spend another $45 to get the thing set up.

Lesson learned.
