Where do you eat after shows??

No options in these here parts, so straight home. (Although way back when I lived and rocked in the 617, Hi-Fi Pizza in Cambridge was the go-to.)

(dalk, I'm still 617 on my cell, home land line is 978 like yours...) After gigs in Kenmore Squ. Boston, (The Rat and anything on Lansdowne st depending on era) there Use To Be a 24 hour breakfast place on the corner of Brighton Av and Boylston, (across from the Star Market) a 1/4 acre of bench tables and cafeteria service, by 3am bands would be there fueling up there on delicious high calorie breakfast foods including the French Toast. Especially ones that rehearsed at the Piano Factory, below around the corner...It's a commercial monstrosity/mall now with double parked cars all the time.

I'm way too old and too fat for that. I just go home. If I ate every time food was offered, I'd weigh 300 lbs.

Sometimes soup in the crock pot waiting with a fresh bread machine loaf.
Most of the time I crashed.
Sometimes we went fishing!

My kind of place. I believe down to my socks that four of the most lovely words in the English language are "breakfast served all day."

2 years ago (just before covid and the day Kobe was killed) my son had his first (and last) 617 gig at the Middle East; it was a letdown to see Hi-Fi gone. My kid's band had the butts moving, tho.

I’ve done about every late night spot in Denver for post 2am food. One of my favorite now defunct places was called Mary Jane’s Pizza. They were open from 11pm to 4:20am and hung signed pizza boxes from all of the bands and entertainers that made it a regular haunt.

Back in the day... we had a favorite gas station that had well above average hotdogs (with toppings).

The older and fitter I've gotten, the less I want to eat anything after about 9pm. I'd much rather just wait till morning and eat regular food than eat junk food late at night.

I didn't used to be that way, but I also used to weight as much as 60lbs more than I do now. Not everyone will have that problem.

With original bands we always went to Denny's or Lyons for coffee and Eggs. Cover bands with family hit Jack in the Box on the way home for a long time. Embarrassing but 2 tacos, bacon cheese fries and a smoothie.

If Im not hauling the trailer there is a Mexican place called Beto's that is really. If I am hauling the trailer and can't get through a drive through then its just Maverick gas station

When I came up in Jacksonville, FL, if your gig was anywhere near the beach, then the place to go was Village Inn for all night affordable and tasty coffee, cigarettes, pie, and diner food. I moved to Portland, OR, to join up with a band shortly after college, and after one of our first gigs I innocently suggested that we move the party to Village Inn, a franchise of which was just down the street. SHOCKED looks from my bandmates, to which I said, "why, what's wrong with Village Inn?" The BL replied, "Are you a pimp? What business could you possibly have walking into Village Inn?" So that's when I learned that the reputation of a particular franchise can change dramatically as you go from one end of the country to another.

None of the good spots we used to hit are open late enough since the pandemic hit. They all scaled back their hours.

So in Houston , Tx. , it's pretty much Wataburger or Denny's.

Yep! I'm living north of town now, but "back in the day" it was La Jaliscience, Spanish Flowers and House of Pies.

It has become standard that after our shows, we hit up Taco Bell for a couple of taco party packs (both soft and hard shell, of course).
We snack on those as we stow gear and decompress after the show. Great fun!

As far as I know, none are open late at this point. But the Kirby location got my business a lot. ( Big Easy was down Kirby. )

"Gas Station Pizza" doesn't really have a good ring to it, but here in the Midwest US of A, every little town has a Casey's gas station/convenience store that makes their own pizza and sells it by the slice. Perfect serving of savory goodness.

The jingle says: "Casey's its all good! Casey's its alright." Sometimes when the slices are several hours old, it's just "okay"

What's funny, is that in Casey, IL (pronounced: Kay' ze) they have a Casey's Gas (prounced: Kay' cees)

Yeah, after 30+ years of doing this, I simply prefer to have something when I get home. If the venue has food, I may eat there or take it home to share w/my partner.
